The Tarboro Road Loop.

Some drives are about the city. This one is about what happens when you leave it.

North Raleigh gives way quickly. A few turns off the main corridors and the roads open up — tree lines replace buildings, the sky gets wider, and the sense of distance changes. The Triangle can feel small until you stop moving through it on autopilot.

This is when the Tarboro Road Loop is worth taking.

The Route

Leave the Coffee Lodge heading north on Rogers Road as the morning light is still finding its angle. The road moves through stretches of forest before the tree cover opens into Heritage — quiet enough this early that the transition feels gradual rather than abrupt.

Connect onto US-1 Alternate north. The road widens — long sightlines, smooth asphalt, a gradual incline that lets the car settle into its stride. Through downtown Youngsville before the town is fully awake.

Onto Tarboro Road heading south and east, and the character of the drive changes. The road undulates over gentle hills, cuts through open farmland framed by deep tree lines, and stretches out into long straightaways that invite you to simply be present in the drive. Quieter than anything that connects Raleigh to Wake Forest by the faster routes. Worth the detour.

Tarboro Road brings you back down into the eastern edge of Rolesville. A right onto Main Street and the loop closes exactly where it started — 22.5 miles, forty minutes, and The Coffee Lodge waiting at the end of it.

Order deliberately. Take your time.

The morning earns it.

The Car for This Loop

UNTOLD was built for exactly this kind of morning.

Where URSPRUNG belongs to the city grid, UNTOLD belongs to the road that goes somewhere. More room, more composure, more reason to extend the drive by another exit. Midnight Black feels at home against the North Carolina countryside at dawn — understated enough to belong to the landscape rather than compete with it.

A car worth leaving early for.
